Peer Review Policy

Conference Archives is committed to maintaining the academic quality, integrity, and credibility of the conference proceedings published through its platform. Peer review is an essential component of the publication process and is intended to ensure that submitted research meets appropriate standards of scholarly quality, relevance, originality, and methodological soundness.

Scope of Peer Review

Papers submitted for publication in Conference Archives proceedings may be subject to peer review in accordance with the requirements established by the relevant conference, conference organizing committee, and proceedings editorial team.

Because Conference Archives is a multidisciplinary platform, the review process may vary according to the subject area, conference, and nature of the submitted contribution. Nevertheless, all papers accepted for publication are expected to satisfy appropriate academic and editorial standards.

Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on their subject expertise, academic or professional qualifications, research experience, and familiarity with the topic of the submitted manuscript.

Where practicable, reviewers should have no conflicts of interest with the authors, institutions, or organizations associated with the submission.

Conference organizers and editors may appoint reviewers from academic institutions, research organizations, professional bodies, or relevant industry backgrounds, depending on the subject matter of the paper.

Review Criteria

Reviewers may be asked to evaluate submissions on the basis of criteria including, but not limited to:

  • Originality and contribution to knowledge
  • Relevance to the conference and subject area
  • Clarity of the research objectives
  • Soundness of methodology or technical approach
  • Accuracy and adequacy of analysis
  • Quality and interpretation of results
  • Appropriateness of references and engagement with relevant literature
  • Clarity and organization of presentation
  • Validity of conclusions
  • Ethical considerations, where applicable
  • Overall scholarly or professional significance

Review Process

The review process normally involves an initial editorial or conference-level assessment followed, where applicable, by review by one or more qualified experts.

At the initial stage, submissions may be checked for scope, completeness, basic academic standards, plagiarism or inappropriate content, and compliance with submission requirements.

Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements may be sent to appropriate reviewers. Reviewers provide recommendations and constructive comments to assist the editorial or conference committee in reaching a publication decision.

Possible outcomes may include:

  • Accept
  • Revise and resubmit
  • Reject

The final publication decision rests with the responsible conference or proceedings editorial authority.

Peer Review Models

The peer review model may differ between conferences. Depending on the conference's established procedures, submissions may be evaluated through single-blind, double-blind, or another clearly defined review model.

The applicable review model should be communicated to authors where appropriate.

Confidentiality

Reviewers should treat manuscripts and associated review materials as confidential. Reviewers must not disclose, reproduce, distribute, or use unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage.

Editors and conference committees should also take reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality of submissions and reviewer assessments.

Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers should disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality. A reviewer who believes that they cannot provide an objective assessment should decline the assignment.

Authors and editors are likewise expected to disclose relevant conflicts of interest in accordance with the applicable conference and publication requirements.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Provide objective, fair, and constructive assessments.
  2. Evaluate submissions based on scholarly merit rather than the authors' identity, institutional affiliation, nationality, gender, or other irrelevant characteristics.
  3. Identify significant methodological, ethical, or scholarly concerns.
  4. Point out relevant published work that has been omitted where appropriate.
  5. Maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
  6. Avoid using unpublished information obtained through peer review.
  7. Complete reviews within the agreed timeframe or notify the responsible editor or conference committee if additional time is required.

Editorial Responsibility

Conference Archives and the responsible conference editorial or organizing team are responsible for ensuring that appropriate review procedures are followed for papers included in the proceedings.

Editorial decisions should be based on scholarly and publication-related considerations and should not be influenced by commercial, personal, or discriminatory considerations.

Research Integrity and Ethical Concerns

If concerns arise regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, authorship disputes, unethical research practices, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or other forms of research misconduct, the responsible editorial or conference authority may investigate the matter.

Where necessary, publication decisions may be reconsidered and appropriate corrections, retractions, or other actions may be taken in accordance with applicable publishing and research-integrity principles.

Reviewer Recognition

Where appropriate, Conference Archives or the relevant conference may acknowledge reviewers for their scholarly contribution, while maintaining reviewer confidentiality where the applicable review model requires it.

Continuous Improvement

Conference Archives is committed to periodically reviewing its peer review practices to promote fairness, transparency, academic quality, and consistency across its multidisciplinary proceedings.
